On September 13, 2025, vehicle owners throughout India will have the opportunity to resolve their outstanding traffic fines during the National Lok Adalat. This event, taking place in courts nationwide, is designed to address minor traffic infractions such as not wearing a helmet or seatbelt, speeding, improper parking, and lacking a Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate.
Benefits of Attending
Participants can take advantage of reduced fines or even complete waivers, allowing them to save both time and money while steering clear of lengthy court procedures.
Exclusions from the Lok Adalat
However, serious offenses like drunk driving, hit-and-run cases, and negligent driving resulting in death will not be eligible for this program. The government aims to alleviate the burden on courts and promote responsible adherence to traffic regulations through this one-day initiative.
